Sweden Day 6 – Our Swedish Diary: A Day of Meatballs, Kubb, and Lakeside Adventures

Our day began when our teachers—Kerstin, Malin, and Ellinor—came to pick us up. We headed straight to a mall where our two Swedish friends Oliver and Katarina joined us to visit IKEA and several other stores to shop for our things. For lunch, we all sat down for traditional Swedish meatballs, which felt like the perfect local experience. We also made sure to pick up some Swedish candy before heading back home to rest for a bit.

Later in the afternoon, we went to the lake for a small picnic. We spent our time eating the candy we had bought earlier and playing games with some of our Swedish friends,we played Kubb, which is a classic Swedish lawn game, and it was so much more fun to learn it while playing alongside them. It was so nice to just relax by the water and play together.

The energy stayed high even after we left the lake. We played some indoor games and then headed out to play a round of football. To wrap things up, we spent some time cleaning our rooms and getting everything organized before finally sitting down to eat dinner together.

By the time we finished dinner, the sun was finally gone and the night had settled in. It was the perfect moment to just relax and talk about everything we had done. We ended the day feeling completely exhausted but so happy, grateful for the quiet of the night after such a busy, perfect day.
